This month has been very fun as we have celebrated International Walk to School Day (as I'm sure you all did as well) and we enjoyed a 5 hour visit with Grandpa Dallin (Lynn) after he studied at Harvard for a week. We visited a fun park in Cambridge before walking over to Harvard Yard to acquaint the kids with their future dormitories.

Happy Birthday Lauren!!
Lauren had a fun birthday last Thursday, celebrating all day long!

First, before Dad went to work, she opened one present....her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Toodles Ears (Lauren is currently obsessed with Mickey Mouse). Here she is wearing her fun Ears that include 3 games.
Who's that?! What a fun phone call first thing in the morning...Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Dallin!
Lauren was able to play with her friends Ethan, Michael, and Christopher today and then we had a big crew over right after Emma got home from school! In a last second decision, we invited neighbors and friends over to decorate cupcakes for an hour on their way home from school. What a blast!

In true Lauren fashion, she was wearing more of her cupcake than she actually ate.

Opening gifts when Dad got home was challenging...which one to open first??
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!
Of course, she loved them all.

The kids had so much fun...I'm not sure who was more excited, Emma or Lauren.
Happy Birthday, Sis!

Emma and Lauren had a blast with Lauren's new pumpkin decorating kit from Grandpa and Grandma Hunting. Check out their spooky two-faced pumpkin creature.

Happy First Birthday Dallin!
Thursday, August 28, 2008
August is coming to an end and school began this week. We are looking at the beautiful last days of summer and the changing of the leaves (which has already begun!!). Our family is busier than ever and really looking forward to some respite from life.
Just about to walk in to her first day of 1st Grade!!
Dallin is as happy as ever and always has a big smile on his face at home, although he gets a bit shy with strangers. He is learning to sleep in his own bed at night....all night....without mom having to wake up 3 or 4 times in the night....and lose 2-3 hours of sleep....it's painful. Wish him luck!
We started with a good birthday for Mary on August 21st. here we are looking just lovely first thing in the morning!
Just about to walk in to her first day of 1st Grade!!
Emma started school this past week and is loving 1st grade. Sadly, though, she asked me today if she could just stay home and be with Mom. It was sweet but she has a long, long LONG way to go this year so it's time to get used to the schedule!!
Lauren is going to love all the extra attention during the time that Emma is at school and especially when Dallin goes down for his nap. Mom is looking forward to this as well!
Picking blueberries last week.
Mary has doubled up on classes again until the end of November and that takes up a substantial amount of time on top of kids, work, and church responsibilities. Steve is equally busy with work, a long commute, 3 kids that can't stand to be away from him and smother him every chance they can, church responsibilities, and sleeping (his new hobby, since he doesn't have time for any other hobbies!).

Dawg Days of Summer
Well, today we finally had some nice weather and escaped our home. We went swimming at our friends house and, although it was a bit chilly when the wind was blowing, the heated pool was so relaxing. Plus, as an added bonus, I got the kids to help clean up as incentive to go!
